Concerning Upcoming Future Projects
I have a really exciting update to share with you~! This is quite a read, so you might want to grab a cup of tea or coffee (or beer if that's more your thing). Maybe put on some headphones lol.
The next webnovel series, 'The Wicked Age', will be starting later on this year in-tandem with the release of 'The Crimson Moon' (TCM) webcomic. Here's a quick breakdown:
I — What is the 'The Wicked Age's continuity in relation the rest of The Lost Nation Saga?
'The Wicked Age' will be taking place in the 5000-year-long period between the end of 'The Broken Covenant' and the upcoming 'War of the Lost Nation' ('Project Parousia') storyline.
II — How many books will 'The Wicked Age' series be?
While still early in development, 'The Wicked Age' will be a multimedia project. The webnovel series, much like 'The Era of Antiquity', will be released chapter-by-chapter on a weekly basis. However, unlike 'The Era of Antiquity', which is itself a straightforward trilogy put into one volume, 'The Wicked Age' will be a loosely connected series of short stories. This is to better reflect the period's chaotic tone.
III — Will there be webcomics set in 'The Wicked Age'?
Yes! 'The Crimson Moon', which takes place 1000 years after 'The Broken Covenant' is very much a part of 'The Wicked Age's' timeline. I also plan on releasing original short one-shot webcomics and adaptations of short stories based on webnovel, but these are still very much in the conceptual stage.
IV - When will 'The Wicked Age' be released?
'The Crimson Moon' is set to release November 11, 2023, whereas the webnovel and future webcomics set in this era will be starting either in December 2023 or January 2024 and running until ~2025. Please note that these release dates are by no means set in stone, and could potentially be released sooner or later than expected.
V — Where will 'The Wicked Age' be released?
Ah, this is the most exciting part! Although 'The Crimson Moon' is set to release both on Patreon and publically via Webtoon and Tapas, the rest of 'The Wicked Age' webnovel and future webcomics will be Patreon exclusive!
As far as public releases, they'll be released on online store platforms like Gumroad, Amazon, Kobo etc.
VI — What about 'War of the Lost Nation?'
Here's the real big announcement...
'Project Parousia', or 'War of the Lost Nation' (working title) which is still extremely early in development, will be coming out sometime in the future, potentially 2025 or 2026. How long it will run, I'm not sure.
While not fully fleshed out yet, my hope is that 'Project Parousia' will be a trilogy much akin to 'The Era of Antiquity', although there is a high chance that it could end up being a hexology.
Potential subtitles:
'Revolution/Vanguard'
'The Field of Flowers/The Lost Children'
'The Road to War/The Promise'
The elements which make up 'Project Parousia' are technically the oldest parts of The Lost Nation Saga, being in development since April 2009. The backstory of 'The Era of Antiquity' is relatively new in comparison. 'Project Parousia', all things considered, is The Lost Nation Saga's endpoint. The culmination of, by 2026, 17 years of worldbuilding.
Now, does this mean that the Saga will be over by the end of the 2020's? I doubt it. The Lost Nation Saga is such a big story and who knows, it might grow into something way bigger than myself and beyond my control within the next five years. The future is always wonderfully uncertain, but I'm pretty sure I'll be working on this story in some form until my Maker calls me to paradise or oblivion.
